christmas rum punch
A punch of Christmas right in the kisser.

Happy Friday, kids! I don’t often work with rum, but when I do, it’s often spiced rum, and today we’re basically pouring an entire bottle into a beautiful, festive pitcher to serve at all our holiday parties this season.
This Christmas Rum Punch mixes in a pinch and boasts all the cozy, kicked up flavors your gatherings demand. Cranberry and apple mingle with lots of rum, fresh oranges, and spices. A warming drink perfect to sip while enjoying light bites and lingering in the crisp winter air.
I say “crisp” and it’s 80 degrees out on December 4. Whatever.
As usual, not gonna chat your ear off, so let’s just get sippin’.

Punch Buggy No Punch Backs
Pitcher cocktails of mine are never elaborate or difficult. But, they pack a great –
– wait for it –

PUNCH.
Okay, I deserve to be boo’d for that.

All you need to do is snag your favorite big pitcher and mix together the following: spiced rum, cranberry juice, apple cider, fresh cranberries, sliced oranges, cinnamon sticks, and anise pods.

Cover and refrigerate at least 2 hours, but up to a 3 days prior. I do recommend omitting the oranges if you plan for a longer chill, else the rind might render the drink bitter. Add the oranges back as early as the night before serving.
I hope that made sense.

That is more or less all you need to do for the drink. Pour servings into individual glasses and garnish with extra cranberries, oranges, and a rosemary sprig or two.
You can keep leftover punch for up to 5 days, but take out the flavorings (cranberries, cinnysticks, etc.) The drink will become way too pungent after the extra days of infusion.
That’s all, folks! Enjoy this beauty and enjoy your weekends!
