mrs. claus’ merry mojito

Because I’m sure Mrs. Claus gets tired of Santa’s shit by the end of the Christmas season.

Yo, I’m tired of my own shit this season, so it’s high time to grab a sip, sit my ass down, and relax. This Mrs. Claus’ Nightcap is a real indulgent treat if your sweet tooth is raging mad and you need to calm yourself before proceeding with whatever tasks you’ve yet to complete. It’s sweet, creamy, a touch fruity, and delightfully easy.

With Christmas just 8 days away, I’m tying a bow on all my dashing eats and sips for the occasion. Yesterday I put up my Christmas Eve and Day Menus, with a few more goodies to come. Really excited to see what ya’ll make! I’m definitely in for the buffalo snack mix and Homemade Crispy Chickpea Nuggets. The latter is one of my favorite recipes of late. I’ve been heating some of up for lunch these past several days with whatever accompaniments I whip out of my fridge.

Enough about my propensity to leftovers, and back to cocktails. The thing I love most about this drink is how effortless it is at its core, but you can jazz it up as much or as little as you’d like. I say a big heap of sugared cranberries and a white chocolate rim is a must because they’re so pretty, but you can keep it nakey if you want, too. The taste will not suffer.

I like to rim my cocktail glass in melted white chocolate first, because it’s fun. You can swipe that method or omit it. No biggie.

All you need to do the thing is vanilla vodka, coconut rum, amaretto, lime juice, and orange liqueur. Sounds like a lot of components, but quite easy to buy those sample sized liquors they sell in stores. Shake everything together and pour into a glass, throw in some ice, and top with heavy cream or full-fat coconut milk. Poof! A cocktail reminiscent of a boozy, citrusy sugar cookie.

Throw on those sugared cranberries, maybe some rosemary, and serve with a little sugar cookie on the side if you wish. Then, sippy sip.

Hows’ your Christmas planning going? I’m done shopping (well, intentionally shopping, I still see shit I want to buy people and get it because I want to spoil everyone) and have been wearing my Santa hat everywhere I can for the past week. I shall continue that because it makes me happy, and what’s better than feeling happy this season? It’s a must, I’d say.
