winter snowstorm margarita
Snowfall outside, a cackling fireplace inside, and a sparkling, zippy cocktail in your hand. That’s a cozy Christmas tale if there ever was one.

The final Friday before Christmas! How is everyone feeling? I myself am not quite at holly jolly but I am solidly holly. Whatever that means, unless it denotes being red in the face with slightly prickly leaves. That feels about right.
It has proven a long and tiresome week, between training and especially insane mornings at work, so why don’t we settle in for a sweet and pretty cocktail to kick off the pre-holiday weekend?
The Winter Snowstorm Margarita is sassy and smooth, with a little floral kiss of St. Germain to add a snowflake-on-your-tongue vibe. Coconut cream and orange liqueur flavor our tequila specialty, and a splash of sparkling water rounds out the lineup. A little unique but not over the top, as a fun drink should be.

Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow
If I lived anywhere near snow, I would certainly let it, yes sir.
Nothing to our drink today: no special syrups, no simmering, no fuss or hair-frizzing. Love that for us.

In your shaker, combine tequila, St. Germain, Cointreau, lime juice, agave, and full fat coconut cream. Do not try to swap this out for a lower-fat alternative, as it will curdle and look (not to mention taste) like shit. You can use heavy cream if you don’t like coconut flavor. This is the only acceptable alternative and actually makes the drink even richer, and I kinda like this variation, too.
Add some ice to your shaker and shimmy to and fro until combined. Pour into a pretty cocktail glass and top with a little sparkling water. Not too much, just for a bubbly pinch on your lips.

For garnishes, I love cranberries and rosemary, sugared if I have time. An orange peel looks really nice too if you have the patience to make those pretty curls. And the skill. I do not boast that skill.
Not gonna talk your ear off, so I’ll leave you with this. Good luck with your holiday shopping, godspeed with your kids being out of school, and please take some quality time for yourself, festive cocktail or no! Love to all!
