fresh strawberry mango lemonade

A fresh lemonade recipe every year just feels like a nice end-of-winter tradition.

Happy Friday, friends! We’re rounding out my 2026 Valentine’s Menu and springing into warmer-weather hygge – or at least dreams of it, if winter still grips your balls too tightly – with this gorgeous glass of sunshine and sunflowers.

Lemonade is my favorite pitcher drink to keep stowed in the fridge for afternoons that heat like a sauna someone cranked a touch too high. Late winter and spring are unpredictable: usually, in February and March, our morning temps hover in the 50s but quickly shoot up to70/80 once noontime passes.

I know this isn’t the case everywhere, but I also know many of ya’ll in the harsh northern climates are craving a dollop of refreshment after your weeks of sub-freezing temps and copious snowfall.

Darlings, that’s where Fresh Strawberry Mango Lemonade comes in. Bright, sunny, sweet, and tart, with a bubbly hue and beautiful flavor. Flavored entirely with fresh fruit, no weirdness, but all the ease. The hardest part is waiting for the chill time to elapse!

Which, hint hint, you can skip if you just want to toss some ice in a glass and serve immediately.

Why Can’t Life Gently Hand You Lemons?

Cos life is a troll, that’s why.

First step for our beautiful sip is a homemade strawberry syrup. I made this initially for my Strawberries and Cream Martini and decided it’s a great way to sweeten our lemonade while providing the kick of strawberry necessary to live up to the name.

Simply simmer sugar, strawberries, and s-water (sorry, really wanted alliteration) until the berries break down and the syrup turns a lovely red hue. Strain the solids through a sieve, really squeezing the juice from the smashed fruit.

Now, grab a couple luscious mangoes, peel and cube the innards, and toss into a food processor to whip until a smooth puree results. You may need to scrape down the bowl a couple times to ensure no chunks go unblended. Sneaky bastards.

Really encourage you here to take time squeezing a buttload of lemons, think 10-12. Buy yourself a hand juicer for the job; it makes shit so much easier. Fresh lemon juice is the pinnacle of flavor in a homemade lemonade and using canned or bottled just won’t live up to the fanfare our sippable fellow deserves.

Once you’ve got all your components properly simmer, squeezed, and pureed, stir them together in a big pitcher with lots of filtered water. Cover and refrigerate at least an hour, but preferably longer. Overnight really allows the lemonade to meld and mellow.

Serve with fresh strawberry slices, basil or mint leaves, and plenty of ice to keep it chilled. A sunny drink to inspire a sunny disposition. I swear, this is the peak of good-mood food, peeps.

Leftover lemonade will keep for up to a week in the fridge, so yay, more joy for other days that may require an extra dose.
