thanksgiving sangria

A beautiful pitcher for your holiday tables. Rich with spice and autumn flavors and boosted just a touch with bourbon!

Ingredients
  

  • 4 cups apple cider
  • 2 cups cranberry juice
  • 1 cup bourbon
  • 1/4 cup Cointreau (orange liqueur)
  • 1 bottle white wine of choice (I like a sauvignon blanc)
  • 2 apples, sliced
  • 1/2 cup pomegranate arils
  • 4 cinnamon sticks
  • 2 star anise pods

Instructions
 

  • Combine all ingredients in a large pitcher and stir to incorporate. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or up to overnight.
  • When reach to serve, garnish glasses with additional apple slices and pomegranate arils, as desired.

Notes

*Prep ahead: The sangria can be prepped up to 3 days ahead of time, but wait to add the apples, pomegranates, cinnamon sticks, and anise pods no earlier than 1 day prior to serving.
