lavender hot chocolate

A warm and soothing early spring delight. Might put you to sleep.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 1/2 cups milk of choice (I like whole or soy)
  • 2 oz dark chocolate, chopped
  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1-2 tbsp dark brown sugar (to taste)
  • 1 tbsp dried lavender
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • whipped cream, for serving

Instructions
 

  • In a small saucepot, combine the milk, chopped chocolate, cocoa powder, brown sugar, and lavender. Heat until the milk is steaming, whisking often. Turn off the burner, cover the pot, and warm for 5 minutes, whisking occasionally, until the chocolate melts completely. Use a fine mesh sieve to strain out the lavender.
  • Pour into a mug and top with a heap of whipped cream!
